C’mon…You Can Blend Those Google Adsense Units Betters

So now that I am back in full Adsense swing, I decided that it was time to create a new Adsense blog. I mean the reason why people make money with Adsense is because they have a bunch of blogs. Previously I had written that I was going to start an eBay blog. I am a big fan of eBay and could write about it until the cows come home. But I decided that I was currently more passionate about a different topic:

Saving Money.

Which is why I decide to create a Saving Money Tips blog. Due to the fact that I have a wedding, honeymoon, and student loan to pay for I have a ton of great ideas so I figure why not share them..

I eventually will post about my blog creation methods from start to finish, but today I wanted to cover one specific aspect of my new blog:

Kicking some Adsense Ass!

We all know the mantra: Blend your Adsense into your blog. Well I wanted to take a slightly different approach. I decided to design my blog around my adsense ads. I figured that it would be much easier to blend in the ads if my blog’s design was based around the adsense.

My main problem, and I had had this problem before was trying to match the fonts of the Adsense ad text, you can’t view it in the page source because it is just JavaScript. I have always just blindly tried to match the font, and had minimal success.

So I decided to do a little research…

And I found something even better than I had imagined. I had found a way to view the Adsense source code. When you view the actual Google Adense source code you can see what fonts are being used, what sizes, and so on.

So here is how you do it:

Right click on the adsense ads

In Firefox:
Select ‘This Frame’
and then select ‘View Frame Source’

In Internet Explorer:
Select ‘View Source’

It’s that easy. From here you just need to muck through all of the CSS code and find the font sizes and family etc. Some of the ad blocks have different CSS styles applied. Eventually I would like to create a reference sheet to show each ad blocks CSS style. But for now you will need to check it out on your own.

So if you are looking for inspiration, check out my latest blog on Saving Money Tips. I would love to hear some feedback on the site thus far.

Oh my…what a coincidence…

I, too, am starting a bunch of new blogs soon (most in the template design stage right now), with one of them being about saving money.

As the queen of frugality, I think it’s time to share my penny pinching knowledge with the world.

Maybe we can do some guest posts for each other, once things really get going.

I really like the layout of your money saving site. Did you design yourself or did you use an adsense friendly template
