I Punched Myself Right In The Niche
I have come to a startling revelation: People only want to come to my blog to read about Adsense. Although the comments would say otherwise, my RSS subscriber number would say differently. Every day that I mention Google, or Adsense my RSS number go up, and on days that I mention things that relate to my life, or other blogging topics, my numbers go down. I put myself in a real pickle haven’t I? Because I have created a “Living on Adsense Blog” I essentially am forced to write about Adsense. When people read my blog they see the word Adsense and not the word “Living.” I see this as more of a personal diary of a guy that earns money by blogging with the occasional tidbit of Adsense/Blogging information.
I guess you could say that I punched myself right in the niche.
Recently I have been writing more technical crap about blogging, and I told myself I wouldn’t do that. Now I blog about blogging, and not my life as a blogger. Perhaps I have gone “blogging bipolar.” I still think that my appendix held my blogging powers. It seems that my posts prior to the “betrayal” were awesome, and now my writing has become less than stellar.
Well not any more, I have decided to really get back to my old school style, but I will still on occasion add a tidbit of Adsense knowledge sneak out once in a while. It’s what they say, blog about what you enjoy or you will run out of ideas and stop blogging.
So even though it appears that I have made an Adsense blog, it was originally designed to be personal blog that covered my journey as a full time blogger. I just think that I have started reading too many blogs that are the cut and paste technical blogs, and as such I started to become one.
Not any more…

That is not particularly a bad thing. it just means you have a niche blog that’s working.
Although it might not be your goal to have a niche blog but more a personal blog.

[...] points your readers in a few direction to some of your classic and most popular posts. Back before I lost my blogging powers, I had written a bunch of great posts, and quite often I get sad that no one really goes through [...]

I know I have problems with this some times. I’ll occasionally notice my quality begin to slip in regards to my posting. When that happens I usually walk away for around a week so I can get re-focused.
Thats the most likely cause of the problem, you’ve just become unfocused in your posting. A short break, while you do some planning on the direction of the blog (where you want it to be in a month, what kind of topics you want to discuss, that kind of stuff)would probably do wonders for you.
