Living on Adsense Blog Earning Stats for Oct 5th 2008

And so another week goes by, and so I have another week of results. Last week, which was my first week back on the Google Adsense train brought me in $3.90.

I previously mentioned that I had gone ahead and picked up a copy of Joel Comm’s Adsense Secrets 4 and started to refocus my Adsense blog to work solely with the techniques outlined in the book. To start off this venture I stripped all of my blogs that had Adsense to the bare bones and began to revamp them all. I started with my World of Warcraft Gold Farming Strategies blog. In fact all of my earnings for the last two weeks have been solely from that one blog. Today I added Adsense to the Living on Adsense blog, but I am pretty sure that it will not bring in that much cash.

At this point I am not sure what my next Adsense blog will be. My goal is to create a blog about something I enjoy instead of targeting the high paying keywords like student loans, mortgage financing, mesothelioma, etc. Sure these words may pay out well, according to everyone else. I have tried to make blogs that target these words, and it just isn’t worth the time. These blogs get real boring, and then poof…you stop updating them, you get bored of writing dry articles, start surfing for porn, and next thing your Google Adsense earngins go right down the pooper.

I’m on a real ‘Google Adsense high’ right now. My plan is to keep it going by creating sites about things that I enjoy instead of targeting the high paying Adsense keywords. I am just super surprised at how one simple book could inspire me and put me over the edge like that. I mean I am not making huge cash from Adsense, but from what I have learned and applied so far I have made enough from Adsense to pay for the book.

Here are my earnings for September 29th to October 5th:

I am now moving on to my 3rd week of testing the position of the ads on my Warcraft blog. I have been testing the ad placements within the blog posts. My first week I had an image ad on the left (336×280) and a text ad on the right (336×280) placed at the start of the post, before the content and after the title. On week two (the stats above are from week two) I tested the same placement, but used two text ads (336×280) side by side. This current week I am testing one text ad (336×280) floating left along side the post content. I will have updates next week as to the success of this new placement
