Magic 8-Ball Predicts My Financial Future
I have decided to stop avoiding the inevitable. I keep thinking that I will make my “do or die” goal for March, but deep down inside I know that it is not possible. Everyday I see blog stats from blogs that are younger than mine, just making a killing. Maybe these are pro bloggers pretending to rookies. I don’t know. Whomever the are, they are putting my skills to shame.
I do not have an Earthquake kit or a bomb shelter in my home, as I have never been one to prepare for disaster, but today I have decided to make preparations. I will not put together a box full of canned goods in case of some kind of emergency, I will however start to work on my resume. Don’t feel bad for me yet, I still have until the end of March to meet my goal. It’s just that I do not think that I can do it. In the wise words of my [now destroyed] Magic 8-Ball:
Outlook Not So Good
Now I generally do not put all of my faith into a plastic ball filled with water, it’s just that I kind of agree with it. People tell me that positive affirmation will help me to make it through this and be successful. It’s just that when you do not believe the positive garbage coming out your own mouth then it does little good.
Negativity make me feel better. I think negative affirmation motives me to succeed more. Either way I have resigned to the fact that I will have to get a job at the end of March. But don’t cry for me yet, I see a possible good outcome from this. If I do have to return to the work force I have decided that I will use the skills that I went to school for. I have a diploma in Graphics and Web Design, but have not really ever done anything with it.
Of course my skills are a little rusty so I’ll have to sharpen them a bit. This is where you get the benefit. For those of you that have read all the way down to the bottom of my rant, I have a reward for you. As I said I need to sharpen my skills, so in order to do that I need to practice my photoshop, fireworks, illustrator skills. I would like to design a few 125×125 ad boxes for my readers. It’s one of those back scratching situations, you get a free ad box created for your blog, and I get to hone my skills.
If you would like to have a free 125 ad box designed for blog all you have to do is leave a comment below letting me know that you would like one made. I will do 5 in total and will choose which blogs I do freebie ads for based on the creativity of the comments you leave.

I’ll take a 125×125 as well, my friend, and sorry for the double post.

TYPELiFE: I am still living on adsense, just not on this blog. Due to the fact that everyone that comes to my blog is aware of what adsense is I do not have it here, as it would ruin my CTR. I do however have adsense on my other blogs.
Think of the blog title as a metaphor for being a poor, underpaid blogger.
As for the 125 Ad design, don’t you have a great looking 125 ad already? I would be hard-pressed to top that.

You say ‘don’t cry’, but it’s hard to see that you couldn’t hit the min so far. And I know now that I shouldn’t have pasted those links to you.
I still hope you’re making enough money. Keep going. ![]()
And even if you’re back to another day job, turn this one into a night job. This blog rocks.

Hope things work out for you, I’ve tried, am trying this making a living online thing,a nd it aint pretty- who’d have thought cat food was both expensive and not fit for human consumption?
Just don’t take it on as a nightjob though, you’ll get more frustrated by being grerat at what you do, and not having time to do it as well as you can.
I still hope you make it = )

I appreciate everyone’s comments, but I am curious if any of you are commenting to be eligible for the free 125 ad design.
If you guys want one made can you please indicate so in your comment!
Thanks, I just need to figure out who is actually commenting and who wants me to design them a 125 ad.

Sometimes you have to take a few steps back to get a head start on a running jump, in order to make it across the canyon. And the bigger the canyon, the more steps back you may have to take.
If you’d like to see how well you are really already are doing, take a look at my latest blog post.
At least you have some formal training in something you can get a job with, so consider yourself lucky. You’ll be just fine.
Some of us might be selling our socks by the end of the month in order to continue with their hopes, plans, and dreams. Blogging is not my passion and not the way I want to earn a living…it is my second choice. My first is my software, which for ethical reasons I have chosen to release as donationware, meaning the user sets the price. Unfortunately, most of the time that price is $0 (oh how I wish I had a $1 donation for every download of one of my programs…it would solve almost all of my problems)
As far as a free ad box, I’ll let you spend that time and labor on someone else that really could use it. I happen to love creating my own art…I consider it theraputic.

Isn’t your blog due for a rebranding? It doesn’t seem like you are living on your adsense income anymore.
Maybe livingwithoutadsense?
