Project Wonderful, the other white meat…I Mean Promotional Tool

cranial blogSometimes, someone says it better than you, and sometimes that someone knows better than you, and once in a while that person helps you out for no other reasons except to see you succeed (and on occasion I like to let a sentence run on forever).

Kind of like a Mom. It’s the “I’m doing this for your own good, and this hurts me more than it hurts you” mentality. I think I have found the blogging version of a Mom.

The other day, a blogger came to my blog and verbally slapped the “poop” out of me for not reaching my blogging potential and left one of the longest “chock full of advice” comments ever. I mean this comment beat the tar out of any post I have ever written, and here it is stuck on my blog and forever lost comment section of my one of my posts. I am sure you will be able to find it. She basically bent me over her knee and spanked me until listened. The very next day, I used some of her comment material as inspiration for a post, and she came back and slapped the “poop” out of me again! And once again leaving my otherwise useless post full of fantastic content!

Ok I am listening!

So for all you rookies out there, read her comments and follow her advice. I know I am going to, and not just because it is sound advice, but because I am afraid to get bent over her knee again!

So for those of you that are wondering about this mystery “blogger mom” she is none other than apps from Cranial Soup. So take a moment to read the comments she left and then head over to her site where you can find a brilliant post about how to use Project Wonderful to increase traffic and readers to your site. It beats the tar out of the method I posted about Project Wonderful and getting traffic.

Wow! I didn’t expect this. Thanks for the love.

I guess I am sort of an ‘internet mom’ to a lot of people. It’s just my nature to let my thoughts & opinions flow when I see there is a need for it. And I’ll do it anywhere, any time. You should see me in action in my chatroom with the kids learning programming. A lot of them do think of me as their online mom, and many I consider my internet children, and am as close to them as I am with my own real-life child. :-D

When I see someone with some potential and they are in need of some advice and/or encouragement, I give it…freely.

When I found your blog (because you placed an ad on one of my sites with Project Wonderful) I saw someone like me, who is struggling…trying to earn a living without having to go get a ‘real job’. When I saw that you were getting dangerously close to having to go get that ‘real job’ I felt it was my duty to light a fire under your ass and create a little wind to help you fly.

Heh, Project wonderful is great. The comic community has really embraced it. It seems difficult to find a website that is not a comic strip on which to put your ad. I don’t know how long it has been around, but it looks many people are getting into the act everyday. I like the idea that your ad audience is not necessarily the same people who make websites and “blog.”

@apps: Thanks for thinking that I have potential, and for lighting any sot of combustible material underneath my ass. I appreciate your advice. Although I do have a few other blogs, after your comments I made a list possible blogs that I could create.

Let’s just say that I have a lot of work ahead of me!
