They Voices In My Head Are Screaming “Shower Less, Blog More”
Blogging is a nutritious way to be a part of the whole web 2.0 social networking scene.
.
But at what cost?
.
It’s great that I can be social and not leave the house. I meet and chat with many new people throughout my day. I spend most of my time reading blogs, making comments, posting in forums etc.
.
I can do these things in public as well, but as it stands right now, I shouldn’t.
.
I find it quite troublesome that blogging and social networking are anonymous, and faceless. Sure I can put up an avatar or image of me with my hair looking good, no food in my teeth, get a few little blemishes photoshopped out. But what about my appearance right now?
.
Social Networking is killing personal hygiene…
.
The more time I spend chatting with people on social networking sites brings more visitors to my blog, and of course brings more Google Adsense income. If I were to leave my house right now and strike up a conversation with the first stranger I see would no chance of any financial gain (unless I hit the streets begging for change). So why would I talk to strangers then? Why would I bother leaving the house?
.
If I do not leave the house, is there any reason to worry about my personal hygiene?
.
There really isn’t.
.
For the time it takes me to shower, shave, and everything else I could have chatted with a few bloggers, read a few post, created some comments that will draw traffic to my site. The social networking aspect equates to more money while the shower just wastes precious time. Once I start making some serious income my stance may change, but from my current perspective, personal hygiene is a money waster.
.

I spend as much time as I can participating in social networking sites to and using them to their full potential. If I have a few spare minutes I log onto MyBlogLog.com check out a few blogs, make some comments; respond to comments left on my blog etc. Quite a few people figure that you can just social post your web site or blog to the top social networking sites and then move on. Sure you can do that, but you will not see the type of increase in traffic to your site if you were to actively participate on the social networking sites.
.
I recommend that you take a day to neglect your personal hygiene and actively participate in some social networking sites. I think you will be surprise at some of the results!

This post was amusing and really made me think how obsessive I am getting with networking on the internet. There was a day when I did not get out of my jammies and instead gleared at my computer screen all day reveiwing blogs and commenting. Although humerous you make a point. Thanks

I have actually renamed my housecoat my “blogging clothes.” It’s like a smelly work uniform, I smelled better when I worked in a fish market!
