Writing Online Articles for Blogs- Kirk Douglas Style
For quite some time while browsing through forums I have found a lot of Internet Marketers talking about writing online articles. There seem to be a lot of different reasons to be writing online articles. One of the main reasons is to drive traffic to your website, or in this case a blog.
I figure that I should get on the article writing band wagon, and use it to promote my blog. If you have a blog or are planning to make a blog then you should get into it as well. It is a great source of traffic, and if you submit your article to a well known and respected (by Google) article such such as Ezinearticles then your article has an even better chance to get ranked in the search engines and drive some traffic to your blog.
I figure that if I am taking the time to write a post, I may as well take the time to write an article as well. I figure that if I can turn every post that I create into an article as well I should be able to get double the content on the web, and hopefully double the traffic. All I would really have to do is take the blog post you have already written, revamp it so it is not exactly the same and then submit it to an article site.
I mean how long would it take you to rewrite the post into an article. My guess is not very long. There have been quite a few times when I have written a post and then clicked the publish button, and got an error and lost my post, or the power went out, or I forgot to save. In these instances I had to re-write the entire article, and it didn’t take that long, maybe 5-10 minutes.
Now I know most of you know this already but bear with me. Here are the benefits to changing your posts around and submitting them as articles:
Search engines trust the article sites more than they trust you. For example I am writing this article and targeting the keyword phrase “writing online articles.” If I were to submit an article with the same keyword phrase to Ezinearticles it would get ranked better and indexed quicker than this article from Living on Adsense.
I think I can explain this better in a real world example: When I was in Vegas last I tried to get into one of the clubs in the Palms. Long (funny) story short, I did not get in. BUT if I had shown up with Paris Hilton, or some other hot celeb then I would be guaranteed to get in.
For those of you that missed it, the club was Google, Paris represented Ezinearticles, and I was Living on Adsense.
Now to enjoy the benefit of getting these articles indexed you have to include a link back to your blog. Places like Ezinearticles has a resource box that allows you to write a quick blurb about yourself and then place a link back to your blog. So when ever someone reads the article they have the option to go to your blog. The best part is that other people can take your article and use it as content on their blog.
Isn’t that the bad part?
No it isn’t, you see when they take your article for use on their blog the policy is that they have to keep the resource box (the part with your link) completely intact. So this means that for every person that uses your article, you will get a backlink to your site.
So now I will write an article that is optimized for the keyword phrase “writing online articles” and submit it to Ezinearticles we will see which gets indexed first, this post, or the article. The article should win, but this post will have a headstart because the article may take a few days to get approved. Of course I just had my PR dropped from 3 to 0 due to the fact that started making some actual money online from writing paid posts.
We shall see who wins. Well I guess technically I win because I will hopefully have two articles indexed in Google.

I am soon going to try this trick. I was eyeing it for quite a while. It will get your blog backlinks aswell as visitors. I am thinking of writing some articles that I will use to submit to article directories for benefits. Lets see how it goes. Ezine is definitely a boom for your blogs.
